Principals Appreciation Week January 24-30

We are pleased to announce that Governor Terence R. McAuliffe has signed a Certificate of Recognition declaring January 24-30, 2015, as Virginia Principals Appreciation Week.  Please join us in acknowledging the tireless efforts of our school principals across the Commonwealth.

The role of the principal as the instructional leader of the school is critically important to maximizing the potential of every learner.  Our principals work diligently to help students and teachers excel, and their leadership and hard work are essential to the success of our schools. They deserve all the recognition and praise we can give them.

Thank you Mr. Hopkins, Mrs. McCay, Mr. Gardner, Mrs. Rucker and Mr. Newman!

  1. Mr Gardner is such an awesome principal. This is my daughters first year and he has made such a difference since we have moved to Virginia. He makes school fun. Makes me want to be in school again. Great leadership!

  2. Thank you to all of our school leaders. Their dedication to the well being of our children is very appreciated. My own children have a lot of admiration for Mr Hopkins at BES and Mr Newman at GHS. Both gentlemen know the students by name and engage with them on a daily basis. Can’t say enough good things about them.
