Below is a letter that we released this week announcing the creation of the Goochland School Safety Task Force to be led by Dr. Gretz and a new initiative to practice lockdown drills more regularly. Please find a .pdf of these documents here.
Governor McDonnell’s task force on school safety also released their initial report to the General Assembly, please find their recommendations here.
The Goochland School Board will vote to adopt our FY14 budget on February 5 (tomorrow) at GHS in Studio B at 6:30 p.m. This budget adoption will be our last meeting in the high school and all future school board meetings will be in the county administration building.
Click here to view the agenda for tomorrow night’s meeting and to see a draft of the budget documents we have proposed.
Also, on February 11, the School Board will present their adopted budget to the Board of Supervisors at 7:00 p.m. in the County Administration Building. We will also be celebrating our district and state champion sports teams from the Fall.
Hello all – similar to the leadership digest we are using for Dr. Gretz’s, Dr. Geyer’s, and my blogs, our Directors of Instruction have created a page to view all of their posts in one stop. Please bookmark the following link to keep up-to-date: http://www.glnd.k12.va.us/index/news/directors
To all in the Bulldog Community,
On behalf of the GHS Athletic Boosters, it is with great pride that we are reaching out to the Community to continue the celebration of winning the State Title in Football. These young men and their Coaches worked very hard and are very deserving. This also gives our community a great sense of pride in our school and the football program.
We would like to reward the Team with State Championship Rings. Unfortunately, the Boosters cannot absorb the total cost of the rings. We are reaching out to the Community in an effort to try to fill that void. We are soliciting donations from individuals, businesses, and County Officials. These donations are tax deductible.
We are also planning various functions in an effort to generate funding. We are looking at a possible Concert, Spirit nights with local businesses and a possible dinner and silent auction.
Your consideration in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Checks may be made out to GHS Athletic Boosters. We would like to be able to hold a ceremony in April if possible to give out the rings and honor our team, school, and community. Go Bulldogs!!!
